For Curious Tourists
For those of you who've landed on this page because you're looking for travel information, or you're looking to go to Ukraine soon, here are some travel research options:
TraveltoUkraine.org: This site is run by the US-Ukraine Foundation: a non-profit organization dedicated to improving relations between the two countries. They have nice summaries of their top-10 destinations. This is a good place to start.
Wikitravel: Ukraine: Lots of information. I particularly like that, since it's made of volunteer contributions, you can even get hotel, restaurant, club, and bar recommendations, like you might see in a traditional paper travel guide.
Best of Ukraine (for profit): This site has good short summarys of highlights from towns in Ukraine, even some of the smaller and less well-known towns, like Uzhgorod (a representative of the site contacted me about a link exchange, and I subsequently reviewed the site).
Lonely Planet: Ukraine (for profit): While the paper version of the guide is a good resource to bring with you when you come, the amount of content available for free online is rather scanty.
Enjoy!
