The Writing on the orange tent says "May you be joyful!" It is one of the slogans for Obolon beer. (Ironically a large interestin in Obolon is owned by Renat Akhmetov. Akhmetov is from Donetsk and considered the richest man in the country, he is also thought to have been a big supporter of Yanukovych.)

Bearer of the Orange

All the folks out on Maidan were the same people from the Yushchenko rallies. New Year's basically was a Yushchenko rally. This supporter even brought his Yushchenko orange.

Georgian Flag

During Saakashvili's speech the camerapeople took a few shots of the Georgian flags scattered throughout the crowd.

I am also a Kyivian!

Saakashvili said Georgian was with Ukraine all through the Orange Revolution, and is with Ukraine now. The crowd went wild.

Only problem - too short

The fireworks display was really high-quality. They had a lot of coordinated releases and stream-of-fireworks effects. The best compliment I can give the organizers was the one complaint from everyone watching: it was too short.
