Congratulations to All Ukrainian Voters

All my congratulations to those Ukrainian voters who waited through the long lines at the polls to vote on Sunday. Lesya's 89-year-old grandpa Volodya and a number of other older citizens of his town were all picked up by horse-drawn cart and taken off to voting locations. (perhaps there was a shortage of mobile boxes)

I just wanted to use this whole post to congratuate you all.

Me too. Hopefully Ms. Tymoshenko gets her old job back...

Good (and to me, unsurprising) news it seems...

Bloomberg reports,

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000087&sid=aCoPXrGqqx6c&refer=top_world_news

"The Regions Party of Viktor Yanukovych, who wants to keep the country out of NATO and forge closer ties with Russia, had 33 percent of the vote, according to the exit poll released immediately after the end of voting today by the Democratic Initiatives research group.

"Yushchenko, who defeated Yanukovych in a re-run of disputed presidential elections in December 2004, was third with 14 percent, behind a force led by former Premier Yulia Timoshenko with 23 percent, the poll said."

Why good news? 14+23 = 37. 37-33 = 4% total lead.

These two blocs will find a way to work together, one can only hope.

Don't forget about the other parties likely to unite around Yanukovych.
