One at a Time, Please

You may already be aware of this, but for the last few weeks, the YuGov has been moving forward in its efforts to return Nikopol ferro-alloy plant to the state. They've been getting some flack for their actions because, of course, Pinchuk (current owner and opposition deputy) is crying foul. In return, Tymoshenko has defended the action based on Ukrainian legal arguments. The argumentation seems quite similar to that regarding Krivoryzhstal.

To which I say: of course the arguments look similar to those regarding Krivoryzhstal, there's been no resolution to it. Wouldn't it be a better plan to reprivatize that in a fair and transparent way like they've been promising all year before moving on to the next business? What's happened to it, anyway? I haven't heard anything about it in two months. One thing at a time, please!

I believe the public is actually for reprivatization though it does make investors really nervous.

I agree with you. That's why I don't get what's going on. By all means, carry through the reprivatization, or at least start to. They only way the YuGov's going to assuage the fears of investors is by carrying through on its promises to reprivatize in a fair and transparent way.

And it's not like they're flush with cash right now to just ignore the problem.

I just hope that this is residual post-summer-vacation lethargy. But it's already early September. Time to get back to work!
