Laughs from Surkis

I'm still a week behind, and not likely to get any more up to date, as my parents have invited us to join them on a family vacation next week. In addition, Neeka has already covered this whole issue in detail. (with great addendums) But for what it's worth:

Radio Liberty got transcripts of a speech given by Vladislav Surkis, deputy Head of Putin's administration. Then Kommersant translated it into English. It is a long diatribe against the Baltics for being racist against Russians, Freedom House for being headed by a former CIA bigwig, but his best is this little gem:

For instance, it is difficult for me to understand what the big difference is between the Kuchma regime (now alledgedly perceived as criminal), and the Yushchenko regime. As hard as I tried, I failed to see any difference.
I just want to take the time to say this: "Stop trying, Vlad, you look as if you might strain something."
